Tunnel Disaster Reduction and Prevention Plan
As a special type of tunnel, highway tunnels can incur significant losses if the main structure is damaged due to fire or other factors during operation. The purpose of the fire detection and alarm system is to promptly identify abnormal conditions within the tunnel, quickly organize rescue efforts, and minimize losses. The "Highway Tunnel Traffic Engineering Design Specification" describes the stages of fire formation and development as divided into four phases: early, initial, mid, and late stages. Each stage has distinct characteristics, with the early stage showing some smoke; the initial stage showing increased smoke and flames; the mid stage indicating the formation of a fire with rapid escalation; and the late stage showing fire spread. Due to the harsh tunnel environment and the presence of ventilation systems, controlling smoke density is challenging. Therefore, the focus of fire detection in tunnels begins from the early stage.

Large detection range
● Image-based fire detectors are used in spaces exceeding 12 meters in height.
● Effective monitoring can be conducted within a 100-meter visual range.
● The detector has an IP65 protection rating, allowing real-time, online, and in-situ protection of the target space.
Smoke and fire detection can simultaneously identify flames and smoke.
● Utilizing image pattern recognition technology for fire detection in video images, a deep network for smoke and fire recognition based on transfer learning is constructed. This network extracts features of flames based on color, motion, texture, and spectral characteristics using neural networks to achieve smoke and fire detection.
Strong anti-interference capability
● Traditional infrared and ultraviolet flame detectors are prone to false alarms due to direct or indirect sunlight or other light sources during normal operations. Image-based fire detectors overcome these shortcomings by studying the thermal, color, shape, spectral, and motion characteristics of flames, recognizing and alarming based on colored and near-infrared images of flames, unaffected by the aforementioned environmental interferences.
Visualization capabilities for quick location identification
● Image-based fire detectors provide real-time video images of the fire scene, allowing for awareness of the current fire situation, development trends, and the status of fire extinguishing systems, facilitating timely and effective judgments for personnel evacuation and rescue efforts.
● Image-based fire detectors display the location and time of ignition in real-time, providing location information for fire extinguishing systems, making firefighting easier.
